Introducing Insights: Your AI Tells You What to Fix in Your Business

insightsaianalyticsshopifynew-feature

Most people use AI tools the same way: open a chat, ask a vague question, get a vague answer. "How's my business doing?" → "Your revenue looks healthy, consider optimising your marketing spend." Thanks.

The problem isn't the AI — it's that it doesn't know enough about your business to give you specific advice. And even when it does have your data, you're still relying on yourself to know the right questions to ask.

That's why we built Insights.

What Insights does

Instead of you asking questions, the AI analyses all your connected data and tells you what needs attention. It pulls from every source you've connected — Shopify, Google Analytics, Klaviyo, Search Console, Triple Whale, Gorgias, Xero, reviews, shipping, everything — and generates a prioritised checklist of specific, actionable recommendations.

Not "consider improving your conversion rate." More like:

Your conversion rate is 0.89% — well below the 1.5–3% e-commerce benchmark. Your GA4 data shows 55,000 monthly sessions but only 489 orders. Focus on product page optimisation and checkout friction before spending more on traffic acquisition.

Every insight comes with a title, a description explaining why it matters (with your actual numbers), and a specific action step telling you exactly what to do about it.

How it works

The process is simple:

  1. Ask your AI — open Claude, ChatGPT, or whichever tool you use and say something like "Analyse my business and tell me what to improve"
  2. AI analyses everything — it pulls metrics from all your connected sources: revenue trends, traffic patterns, email performance, support ticket volume, SEO rankings, return rates, ad ROAS — the lot
  3. You get a prioritised checklist — 3–8 specific recommendations, categorised by area (revenue, marketing, operations, customers, SEO) and ranked by priority

The insights are saved to your dashboard as an interactive checklist. Tick them off as you work through them. Ask for fresh insights any time.

What kind of insights does it find?

It depends on your data. Here are real examples based on common patterns:

Revenue

Cart abandonment rate is 78% — you're leaving money on the table. 4,200 checkouts started but only 924 completed last month. Set up a 3-email abandoned cart flow in Klaviyo targeting the 3,276 lost checkouts.

Your top 5 products account for 62% of revenue. If any of these go out of stock, you lose a significant chunk of sales. Set up low-stock alerts and ensure reorder lead times are covered for these SKUs.

Marketing

Email drives only 4% of revenue despite 100k+ subscribers. Your Klaviyo flows have a 0.3% click rate — well below the 1–2% benchmark. Audit your top 3 flows for subject lines, send timing, and offer relevance.

Meta Ads ROAS dropped from 3.8 to 2.1 over the last 60 days. Your CPA has increased 45% while conversion rate stayed flat. Review audience targeting and creative fatigue — your top campaign has been running unchanged for 6 weeks.

SEO

Organic traffic converts 3x better than paid but gets 70% less budget attention. Search Console shows 42 keywords ranking on page 2 with high impressions. Moving even 10 of these to page 1 could add significant revenue at zero ad cost.

Operations

Your DE market has a 17% return rate — double your other markets. This is eroding margin on international orders. Check size guide accuracy and product descriptions for the German storefront.

Average first response time in Gorgias increased from 2.4 to 4.1 hours this month. Ticket volume is up 30% but team capacity hasn't changed. Consider adding a macro for the top 3 ticket categories to speed up responses.

Customers

Repeat purchase rate is only 12%. 88% of customers buy once and never return. Your average time between orders for repeat buyers is 45 days — set up a post-purchase flow targeting customers at day 30 with a personalised recommendation.

Progress tracking

When you mark an insight as completed, the AI captures the current metric as a baseline. Later, you can ask "How have my insights progressed?" and it compares the baseline to the current numbers — showing you the actual impact of the changes you made.

Asked to reduce cart abandonment? It'll show you what the rate was when you started and what it is now. Worked on improving email click rates? It tracks that too.

Why this is different from dashboards

Dashboards show you numbers. You have to figure out what they mean and what to do about them. Insights skips the interpretation step and goes straight to the action.

It's also cross-source by default. A dashboard in Klaviyo can't tell you that your email revenue is low relative to your subscriber count compared to your paid ad efficiency. Insights can, because it sees all your data at once.

And it's not a fixed report. It's generated fresh every time you ask, based on whatever your data looks like right now. The recommendations change as your business changes.

What you need

  • An Ask AI Data Connector account with at least one data source connected (the more sources, the better the insights)
  • Any AI tool — Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity
  • 30 seconds to ask the question

There's no extra cost for Insights. It uses your own AI tool to do the analysis — we provide the data, your AI does the thinking.

Get started

  1. Sign up for Ask AI Data Connector if you haven't already
  2. Connect your data sources — start with Shopify, then add GA4, Klaviyo, and others
  3. Open your AI tool and ask: "Analyse my business and give me a prioritised list of things I should improve"
  4. Check your Insights dashboard to see your checklist and track progress

The first time you see specific, data-backed recommendations for your business — not generic advice, not a wall of charts, but a clear list of what to fix and how — you'll wonder how you managed without it.
